A Reluctant Healer . . .
My parents insisted from my early childhood that I would go to college-- and they were determined that I should be a doctor.
This created significant conflict in our home because, at age twelve, I had read though several issues of the New England Journal of Medicine. I recognized that research studies were not about seeking ways of healing people -- they were about proving which new medicines might suppress symptoms of a disease. I was not impressed.
Shortly thereafter, my parents took me to our family physician who prescribed penicillin for the nasty cold and sore throat which I had developed. Penicillin made it worse. After I stopped taking it and felt better, I wanted to be sure, so I started the prescribed dosage again. Again, my symptoms worsened and I reported this to my doctor. He exclaimed, "That's impossible!"

I knew, at that moment, how deeply doctors believed in the power of medicine. I could see myself, i my final year of residency, arguing with the Dean of the Medical College because I refuse dot administer penicillin to a patient for whom I believed a regularly accepted medication was not in the patient's best interest. I knew that medical school was not my path.
During my early 20's, several traumatic losses and life's stressors impacted me. Stress is a factor in 95% of all illnesses and normal stresses, like relocation, a new job, marriage and pursuit of an advanced degree were compounded by the death of four beloveds -- family friends, pets. Under these stressors, I became hopelessly ill with an undiagnosed condition. Sympathetic friends and family encouraged me not to worry about it and suggested that there was nothing wrong. Doctors had nothing to offer and no one understood that my mind expected me to do things I had alway done and dreamed of doing . . . but my body could not and would not.
I struggled for years until I learned that this condition had a name: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Few doctors know what to do about it now, and in 1980, this condition was virtually recognized. When doctors offered no help, no hope, or no understanding, I knew that if i did not get help FAST, I would soon die.
HEALING MYSELF AND HELPING OTHERS
There was no guide, not doctor, no one book, no person who could help me get better. I had to learn how to heal myself, out of necessity. I prayed about it like this: "OK, God, if you want me to stay here, you need to fix this body. You have three weeks to do it." My health was not restored in three weeks, however within three weeks, I began getting cluses leading me towards the path that has become, after years of trial and error, research, and assembling pieces of a puzzle, a logical program that has restored health. The amazing result of my experiences is that this is a protocol that has helped many others restore the vitality, hope, joy, freedom and health where there was pain and despair -- and usually -- that improvement is evident within three weeks of beginning the program.

There is no quick pill. Pills remove symptoms but do not change the cause of illness. There are wonderful holistic supplements available today however no pill or supplement will make you healthy if your are, unknowingly, doing things every day that cause your body to suffer illness. It is essential that you learn how to transition from illness to health without further stressing the liver and kidneys with deprivation fasting and dieting. They just don't work beyond a temporary shift. And while they may temporarily give results, they also force the body to make those change under abnormal conditions which cannot be maintained. In the process, they can release toxins acquired over decades and stress the internal organs. This is, sadly, the effect of many diet experiences. This is a too familiar cycle that continues because we have never been taught how to have a healthy digestive tract in the first place. In fact, as a society, we have been "sold" products for food that contribute to poor health.
Therefore careful structuring of each individual's recovery is important to avoid overloading the body and doing further harm.

While I do believe that a wholesome plant based diet is infinitely better for health than eating dead animal parts -- and is better for the health of our ecosystem -- I strongly recommend making a gentle and gradual transition to vegetarianism, if one chooses to do so. It is not necessary to do so. I've studied, researched and proven this system with clients who were vegetarians and those who were carnivores or omnivores. Every one of them has had health improve greatly -- because their digestion improves with this system.
