RESTORATIVE JUSTICE
BRIDGE TO PEACE

HEALING THE SOCIAL,
RACIAL AND CULTURAL DIVIDE
In a world where we wish to evolve peace, we must have the courage to cease ignoring the pain and suffering, that has been inflicted on others during our journey on this earth. We must become willing to take responsibility for change that improves the well being of all, and apply our energy and resources in compassionate and courageous action to restore harmony. Then we will have justice and peace.
Suffering in any of the cultures, peoples, and species on our planet affects the whole of the earth family. Until they are embraced with love and assisted in re-establishment of right relationships, peace cannot fully manifest. Unhealed parts of our world will continue to erupt in dissonance. We must heal deeply, fully, completely, leaving no peoples, groups, species or cultures, religions, or races behind. It is not sufficient simply to change laws and behaviors while we leave the damage and injury we have caused. We must reach back into our history to find the repair for the damage done.
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE
TALK THINGS OVER. LEARN ABOUT EACH OTHER.
FIND COMMONALITIES.
Restorative Justice is an active process for re-establishing right relationships, personally and collectively. The process begins with a full acknowledgement of the deep, unheralded losses that others have suffered from our violence, crime, trauma, abuse, and disregard and our collective role in it. Healing must take place for the deep and profound damage done to minority populations through violence, oppression, or displacement, be they Native American, African American, Women, Abused Children, the millions of companion animals and horses which are killed each year, or the millions of farm animals bred to live a life of suffering and slaughter, or any other species, we must choose responsible action
We must acknowledge and be responsible for the damage that has been done and we must be the vehicles for change.
We begin by ceasing to uphold our belief that we have the right to enjoyment and gain that is acquired from harming others in any way.
WOULD WE BE CLOSER TO PEACE IN OUR WORLD
IF WE ASKED OURSELVES. . .
" Am I willing to live in ways that cause no harm to other living beings and which protect our environment for future generations? "
" Am I willing to revoke old habits and conveniences that cause pain to others, even those most dearly held traditional choices, when they cause suffering to others? "
" What do I need to do to repair the harm, replace the losses, reinstate all that has been lost by another; due to my choices, policies, and actions? "
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE
PROMOTES POLICIES AND
BUILDS RELATIONSHIPS
UPON WHICH WE CREATE LASTING PEACE.
